I wish he & Brokenheart would do a farewell tour.

“A Mended Heart Tour”

Craig Scheermesser

I met him at Summerfest 85 (3 days and 15 bands). It was so cool to see him live there with the band and to meet him in person. I still have photos of that I believe. He ministered so very well

On October 23rd,1987 I brought a friend to this “Christian” Rock concert because he could not drive because of a brain tumor he had removed years ago in high school and no one else would give him a ride. I didn’t want to go because of all of the “religious” disasters I had been to before, but he had front row seats that he would lose otherwise, so I went. When Mylon and the band came onstage I was blown away with the respect I had for his music! He then preached on and off for about 3 hours and said things I had never heard a preacher say. And for the first time, I believed. At the end of the show he sang “The Warrior” and then offered an alter call. Without even thinking, I was the first person to get to the stage. Less than 2 years later God used me to reach the beautiful lady that is now my wife of 15 years. We were baptized together 10 days before our wedding and still love God with all we are and all we have! Mylon will always be my spiritual “Big Brother” that I never get to see enough. What I wouldn’t give for a chance to sit in a room and just have a conversation with Mylon! And Broken Heart was the best bunch of musicians put togeiher. I miss them all, but I still “Jam” with them on a regular basis!

Well, he is just a genuine person who pulls no punches. He is real, a saved sinner who is frank about his struggles, and I can relate.

Hi there,

I would just mention the three songs I like: “Crucible of Love”, “Trains Up In The Sky”, and “Denomination Demolition.” I am 24yrs old and now I am into his music. Praise God for that because I am usually not into this kind music especially like Steve Chapman, Mike W. Smith, and Amy Grant and so on. I usually listen Christian Heavy Metal/Hardrock music like Living Sacrifice and The Showdown just to name a few. But I am branching out little by little but I never been into so much into his music. The last time I remember hearing this stuff when I was like 4,5, or even 6 years old! Yeah that was in the 1980’s alright! His music is awesome. Great website and keep it up! I am glad his music is available! Thank You and God bless,

Joel P.

I have seen and met Mylon many times and God really used him to impact my life as well, when I was a teen.  He came to Greensboro, NC one year on his CRACK THE SKY tour and right when they sang “come on and crack the sky for me”, a lightning bolt lit up the sky above him.  This was a real one, nothing he did on his own.  Thought that was cool, God was there too.. haha!

God bless,
Sandy

I remember seeing Mylon at Creation festivals in Pa., a concert at McCaskey High School and at college in Harrisonburg, Va.

I remember how he would talk to us as teenagers (when I was a teen). He had such a soft transition from his music to singing that I remember listening to him and suddenly come to that he was just talking to us like a friend. I remember that time of his life as that kind of friend.

A few years later when I was on the clean-up crew helping the band clean up after a concert at our college, then called Eastern Mennonite College (now University, www.emu.edu). As I recall, this guy, Mylon, was walking toward he bus after we were done and he looked tired. I think he was ministering to students the whole time we were cleaning up. I wanted to go shake his hand, but I thought this was a tired warrior, so I let it go. I was glad to be able to help and I will remember that along with a memory my Dad shared about Connie Hopper of The Hoppers.

In short, my Dad admired how at a concert at the midnight hour, she too, was there meeting with people at their time of need, ministering to their needs in the name of Christ.

I hope to meet you some day Mylon and if it’s in on the other side of Glory, that is fine with me.

God Bless your continuing service and thanks for the indirect influence you had on my life.

MY MEMORY IS SO SWEET ITS EASY TO RECALL. I HAD ALWAYS BEEN IN CHURCH BUT IN 1984 AT SEVENTEEN FOUND MYSELF UNSAVED AND SEARCHING FOR THAT SOMETHING I COULDN’T PUT MY FINGER ON. WELL THAT SUMMER I FOUND THE ANSWER. THROUGH MYLON’S MUSIC AND MINISTRY I CAME TO TRULY KNOW JESUS CHRIST AND WAS SAVED. IT WAS A CONCERT IN GREENVILLE SOUTH CAROLINA. WHEN I FIRST HEARD THEM I COULDN’T BELIEVE MY EARS. THE ROCKING GUITARS WAS SOMETHING ELSE AND THE SMOKE AND LIGHT SHOW WAS GREAT. BUT WHEN AFTER A FEW SONGS THEY SLOWED IT DOWN AND SANG THE SONG ” MORE” MY HEART LIKE THE SONG SAID WAS TRULY BROKEN AND THE LOVE OF JESUS BROKE THROUGH. TO THIS DAY THAT IS MY FAVORITE SONG. I WOULD LIKE TO ASK IF ANYONE KNOWS HOW TO GET THE MUSIC SOUNDTRACK TO THE SONG “MORE” BY MYLON. I’VE LOOKED AND CANNOT SEEM TO FIND IT. ANY HELP WOULD BE REALLY GREAT.MY EMAIL IS ktruck@charter.net

GOD BLESS AND THANKS FOR LETTING ME SHARE MY MEMORIES.

IN HIS SERVICE KEVIN.

My Dad and Mom took me to see Mylon and Broken Heart on their “Sheep in Wolves Clothing” tour when they came through Fort Worth. It was my first real concert I had ever been to, I was 10 years old and it was amazing. That album and Mylon’s testimony really touched my Dad, who had a similar experience like Mylon in coming back to the Lord. His favorite song was “Morning Star.”

We saw them a couple of more times after that, once at Jesus Go Fest ’86, in Lindale, TX, and once again I believe in Fort Worth for their “Crack the Sky” tour. What wonderful memories I will always have of that period in my young life and all the people in it. Thanks Mylon, for telling so many people about Jesus and for all the wonderful music you made for Him.

Just watched the movie “Tommy” and for the first time caught Mylon in the credits. …which led me to Wikipedia… which led me here. As a long time aficionado of great music (both Christian and non), I just wanted to stop in to say that Mylon has one of the all-time classic rock voices, right up there with Burton Cummings and John Fogerty. I STILL pull out my old Mylon and Mylon/Alvin Lee vinyl every year and blast it during our annual pig-roasts/beach parties. And every year, someone new compliments that voice…

Great site, Mylon was the greatest rocker or the 80’s scene and his new cd isn’t too bad either. I just ordered the last few “secular” albums so I should have his entire body of work soon. It will be interesting to hear it all. God Bless.

Hi

Wow I cant believe it I found the web site to Mylon. It is like it took me back to some of the best years. I first saw Mylon at Greenville, NC and if I am remembering right I then saw him at Fishnet in front Royal,VA.

The first time that i saw him my Father had just committed suicide that fall. My mom who was also a big fan took me to the concert. I decided that night to completely give my life over to Christ. I was 15. I went into a back room that night and met a counselor there at the concert which I became very close friends with.

Mylon came into the room that night and tapped me on the shoulder and said Jennifer I turned around and said how do you know my name? He said with a small laugh and grin your mom told me she is outside the door. He took time to sit and really talk to me about everything that I was going threw.

Man, this ministry has changed my life. My mother has went on to be with the Lord now but man the memories she made with me at those two concerts I got to go to.

Hey may you all be blessed; and Mylon and your band, thank you for the memories and thank you for changing my life I will never forget you all

In his service
Jennifer Huband Brewster

I have seen Mylon minister in our church many times, and each time I get something new from God, it is almost hard to think that a man did so much, and made it through.

He has been a blessing to me and my wife, and I can say to our church also.

I WAS A BABY CHRISTIAN WHEN I FIRST HEARD MYLON. MY WIFE AND I WERE IN KAUAI SITTING IN OUR HOTEL ROOM WHEN THE VIDEO OF STRANGER TO DANGER CAME ON THE TV. WE WERE BOTH VERY MOVED BY THE VIDEO AND BECAME INSTANT MYLON FANS. WE HAVE TWO SONS WHO WERE 6 AND 8 AT THE TIME. WE GOT EVERY MYLON CASSETTE AND THEN CD THAT WE COULD FIND. OUR FAMILY WENT TO SEE MYLON MANY MANY TIMES AND EVEN GOT TO MEET WITH HIM AT ONE SHOW. OUR SONS STILL TALK ABOUT THE INFLUENCE THAT MYLON AND HIS GROUP HAD ON THEIR LIVES GROWING UP. WE PRAISE GOD FOR MYLON AND OTHER GROUPS LIKE HIS THAT HAVE BEEN A POSITIVE INFLUENCE ON YOUNG PEOPLE.

In my opinion Mylon and Broken Heart were the best in the great days of CCM.  I’ve worn out the video tapes long ago.  I still have the records but I haven’t had a turntable to play them on in years.  I’ve just purchased the Mylon and Broken Heart – Greatest Hits CD.  I am very particular about the music that I listen to.  It is rare that I enjoy even half of the songs on a CD.  I had to write and tell you that every song on this CD is a 5-STAR.  I know that Mylon is being used these days in a great way but I just wanted people to know that he has left a great legacy of Christian music to inspire, encourage, and entertain.

I gave my life to Christ at a Mylon LeFevre concert at Atlanta Fest in Six Flags Georgia and went on to be a member of a contemporary Christian band and covered some of Mylon’s songs, but mainly performed originals … ministering to youth in Churches and various youth related functions throughout the Southeast.

The presence of God was tangible at that concert back in the early 90s and I remember looking across a crowd of over 10 thousand people and seeing their hands raised toward heaven … then hearing God call me to him.

Thanks Mylon and Broken Heart for your ministry.

I saw him in Athens, Georgia when I was at UGA. I talked to him afterwards. I remember a statement he made to me, “All these preachers are worried about lights and long hair while the kids are going to hell.” That turned me on to his ministry.

I used to love Mylon and the band’s visits to 100 Huntley Street and appearances on our late night talk program, Nite Lite in Toronto. I loved the excellent videos, slick, fun and highly professional concerts, light shows and digital Peavey equipment and grounded music and lyrics. I was part time producer/ director of Nite Lite then in the 80’s. Really enjoyed our early morning breakfasts and Mylon’s laid back testimonial style.

Thanks for being a great servant and mentor for Jesus

Hey Bill,

This is Jim Hankle. I’ve posted in your memories section awhile back.  I just wanted to share this pic of Mylon, my family & myself.

He came to a church in Glen Burnie, Maryland earlier this year. For years I would look on Mylon’s itinerary and he would never come to Maryland. I just happened to look on his site on day and there it was Glen Burnie, MD.!

As you know…Mylon and Christi were a blessing.

The far left is my wife Michelle, and to the far right is my 16 year old son Mylon. I named him after big Mylon in 1990.

Thanks for this site. It is a blessing to all of us who have been greatly touched by Mylon’s ministry over the years.

Blessings to you and your family. Love the updates! Keep up the good work man!

Sincerely,
Jim Hankle

I was about 16 (1975) when my youth pastor shared this incredible album with me it was “WE BELIEVE”. That album has been a great influence in my life showing me it was cool to rock and still believe in God. Mylon’s music and life have blessed my life along with my family and friends. Thanks.

Oh goodness, the memories! Wow! Mylon and his band were just so easy to talk to, like people you knew all your life. I remember talking with them at the old PTL Heritage USA water park.  Mylon had just gone down the 40 ft.? waterslide and telling us how awesome it was (it wasn’t open to the general public yet.)  Then we started talking about the concert coming up that night, and we all started teasing Mylon about being long-winded, so the band members said they were going to make big stop signs for people to hold up if he went on too long!

At a concert in Louisville, we had our 4 year old son with us and my son still remembers Mylon spending time with him, talking with him and rubbing his back.

I don’t know how long you’ve known Mylon, but if it’s been a while, I’m sure you’ve noticed how he “talks” quite a bit differently than he use to.  He use to be very blunt and to the point, no holds barred.  For instance, my husband, Brian, had just gotten a new job and was finding it hard to find time for daily prayer and Bible reading.  He started to tell Mylon about this when Mylon interrupted him and said, “You’ve got time to poop, don’t you? If you’ve got time to poop, you’ve got time to pray!”  Now I can’t imagine this new Mylon with his short hair, suit and tie, and very religious sounding newsletters saying that, but that is the Mylon I remember and love! Someone that would come up to us and give us a hug whenever he saw us, just like a brother.

Other than being on his mailing list, I’m really not involved in his new ministry.  I know better than to judge someone by their looks, but now Mylon kind of intimidates me.  It is hard for me to realize that he is the same person we use to hang out with.  Something I need to just get over, I guess.  If he ever does come to Kentucky, though, I will definitely go by and say hi.

Hello Bill,

We are very happy to find this website! You have done a great job on it! I have filled out the questionnaire as well.

We first saw Mylon LeFevre in Toronto in the summer of 1987. We had collected all of his albums and he was our favorite Christian artist.  The concert was incredible and we were most impressed with Mylon’s gospel preaching and that he felt that it was so important that people be told that they needed the Lord. Some other artists didn’t do much preaching or none at all. I was expecting our first child at the time and because we liked and appreciated Mylon LeFevre and all that he stood for, we decided to call our little boy Mylon also.  This was a new name to a lot of our acquaintances but we were able to tell them that he was named after our favorite gospel singer.

In 1988, we went to Cornerstone near Chicago and were privileged to hear Mylon LeFevre again.  Our Mylon was six months old and enjoyed the music, bouncing to it on my husband’s shoulders! We would have loved to meet Mylon L. after the concert and show him our Mylon but felt that it wouldn’t be right to go and talk with him when there were people waiting to talk to him, wanting to know how to be saved. It seems very unlikely that we will meet him on earth but we definately will in heaven!

We still listen to Mylon’s CD’s of course and have watched some of his ministry online.  Our son Mylon is now 19 and a Christian.  He is attending university, is part of a small Christian band and loves playing guitar. I have attached a couple of pictures.  Mylon is the son who is standing, on the front right in our family picture.

May the Lord continue to greatly bless Mylon and Christi’s ministry and may God bless you and your family as well.

I was a teen in the 80’s and Mylon’s music had such a strong impact on my life. I found him on you tube and started crying listening to More, reminds me of the undisputed love I have for our heavenly father, thank you for the reminders of my child hood and making my day!
